Back in the UK, when I was younger, when no one had a car, At the end of the evening You would always have a choice to make when you were in the pub. Last orders were 11.00 pm. But the last bus home was 10:30 pm. So your choice was, "do I run and catch the last bus home"? or " Do I stay for 30 minutes more drinking time and have to walk 3 miles?" What did I choose? well, I always ended up getting plenty of fresh air and exercise put it that way.

But you would be walking home, and you would always come across other gangs of lads who had also been kicked out of their local pubs. And like a scene from high noon you would do the 'stare off' or if you were smart just avoid eye contact and hope for the best. But as you are passing, the first one catches your eye.

Still doesn't explain why they have horses heads does it? Don't ask me, I just paint them. It just came as a very strong mental 'snap shot' in my mind. Totally out of nowhere. The red colors, everything. was a strong visual image. I tried to deviate as little as possible from that. Perhaps the horses represented a strong, unpredictable power. Something you think you may be able to control, to harness. But it could buck at any moment.
