I really enjoyed painting this one. I hope it shows. The last painting (Horse heads) had my old local pub 'The Marquis of Granby' in it. So I thought I would put the other local from across the road, 'The Greyhound' (or 'The Dog' as it was called).

So you are sitting at a table, with this old bloke who's been there forever. But doesn't mind how the trends, fashions and music change. He always just sits there chatting to the locals. You are happy to sit and have a chat with him, but you still have one eye on all the life that is going on around and behind him
